There is always some late transitions and the domino effect takes place. Some players may not have the grades for admission, some players quit softball, some players may get an offer from their dream school. Current players leave the program opening up roster spots and scholarship money. Lots of things can happen.
I know a player who was recruited as a 2017 pitcher two years ago and since then she has just about given up pitching because she was struggling in the circle, but she is a great power hitter.
