The weekend went well and she got an offer to play. She loves the school, coaches and team. My daughter has a couple more visits lined up, so she didn't accept it yet. We really feel she will, but she needs to see these other schools. The coaches understand and are in no rush for her answer. She is super excited!!

Congrats on the kinda commit! At least if nothing else she has an offer on the table. Must feel nice to know that the hard work has payed off!

Congratulations! The first one always seem to be the hardest. Not sure what the school offered her, if it is less than a full ride (most are) then do not be afraid to let the coaches know that other schools are interested.

The recruiting process is a little like playing poker, and by offering your DD that school just put a couple of cards in your hand, so play them wisely! In a perfect scenario you want to collect as many cards as possible and make an educated decision once you have all of the cards in your hand.

Recruiting is a fickle beast and IMO there's no set way to approach it. I do agree with Slingit in that you should ask if there's genuine interest if you're traveling great distances.

My daughter was invited to an SEC school prospect camp and did very well at the camp. After the camp was over the HC pulled us over and flat told my DD that she was a high money player but would she be willing to take less.

Just my opinion and how we approached my DD's recruitment but getting out of school debt free or as close to it as possible was very important to us. Make a list of what's most important to you and don't waiver from it just because of the idea of playing for a specific program.
