Curious how some of you would define ''being recruited.'' ...

At a minimum, it means the coach knows you and is interested in you. But the interest must be more than ''I'm sending her an email about our next camp because I could use another $150.''

What does ''being recruited'' mean in your subjective opinions?

If a college coach really wants you at their camp, they will go out of their way to let your head coach know that they would like you to attend. They send emails to 1000s and mail fliers to 100s, but a personal invite from the coach is @ 20-25.

Very good answer, thanks. I wondered how many might get a personal invite.

Every college camp my DD went to had 15-20 players that were "segregated" into their own group and that "group" was the one the head coach spent most of their time with.

I think a coach is at minimum interested in but not necessarily recruiting a player if they tell the head coach to have them come to a camp. I think they are being recruited if they tell the head coach they want them to call them or come on campus for a visit.

When the player calls and they pick up the phone knowing you were going to call.
Personal verbal invites to "prospect day' Junior day" etc not camps for 8-18yolds.
When you ask them "are you interested in 2018 RHP/me" and they say Yes.
Campus visits where the coach and players make time for you-especially when asked to stay overnight.
When they hand you a recruitment packet after a workout, tourney, etc.

If a college coach invites your DD to attend their camp a great way to determine their level of interest is to ask to schedule an unofficial visit before or after the camp (I believe during the camp is an NCAA violation). If the coaches are willing to spend several hours escorting your DD around campus they are interested. If they spend the whole day with y'all they are VERY interested!
