Is anyone familiar with this skills clinic? We are considering going since the list of coaches attending is impressive, but I would love to confirm that it is worth the time/effort/money, before we commit.

Wow. Wish I had known about this sooner. What an impressive list of attendees! That weekend is the weekend right before school starts so it would have been difficult to pull. Hope others respond with thoughts/comments/recommendations.

Well, my DW and I decided that the list of coaches attending was too good to pass up, so we are headed to Chattanooga! If anyone else is going please let me know, would love to meet up while we are there and talk softball!

Well DD and I went to Chattanooga this weekend for the Advanced Fastpitch Skills Camp, so I thought I would provide some feedback.

The girls were divided onto 8 teams and they had 4 fields, @ 90 players total. The Summit of Softball facility in Chattanooga, TN is very nice in case you have never been there, but it was HOT this weekend! Temps were in the upper 90s. One field was used for BP - one team hitting while the other shagged balls, then they switched. Other 3 fields were used for situational scrimmage games. College coaches in attendance coached 1B, 3B, or were positioned like a FU.

I was impressed with the overall talent of the players there, especially considering it was open enrollment and was not an invitation only event. Lots of Tennessee Fury and Frost Falcons there. Saw a couple of girls from Indiana Magic, so some people traveled a lot further than we did to attend!

DD was excited that she got to speak with Coach Patrick Murphy (Alabama) and Coach Rachel Lawson (Kentucky) and get some feedback on her pitching. Coach Ralph Weekly (Tennessee) also knew her name, which she thought was cool (he had a cheat sheet with all the players names, but don't tell her). Not sure how much recruiting interest it will generate, but it was a positive experience, although I am not sure we would do it again due to the costs. Will probably stick with events in Atlanta to avoid some of the travel expense.
