Get her a good hitting coach as soon as you can. If she learns the proper mechanics and a compact swing while she is young, one that is short to the zone and long thru it it will pay leaps and bounds.- tmolina

HS So far so good!
OK so the regular season is over, here how DD finished in her section: Runs scored-1st with 51(1st in all D1) Hits-1st with 53 Plate Appearances- 1st with 123 At Bats-2nd with 105 Batting Average-2nd hitting .505 OBP-3rd with .551 Homeruns- 2 Stolen Bases-18 Top 10 in all catagories in D1...- tmolina

Quality of college softball vs. other sports
If I was watching Fast pitch softball for the first time, I would agree with the "friends" assessment. A lot of times I invite friends to watch DD's club team(18 gold) play at showcase or big tourney and get the same response. Having been around the game for 6 years + and really love watching...- tmolina

The Trend of Batting Best Slapper 2nd
I have seen it work both ways. One year we had best slapper bat second behind a very high average lefty swing away hitter. We had great success, the lead off hitter did lead the team in batting average with slapper right on her tail. This year the best slapper is leading off and the high average...- tmolina

If you see somebody else's DD getting a paid hitting lesson and everything they are being taught is wrong, do you intervene at the time, talk to the parent afterwards, or just mind your own business?- tmolina

Has anyone used Cathi Aradi's Services?
If there are no teams with connections in your area(area could be a state away or further) then it might be worth it. Depending on her age plays a role too, if she is in 8th grade and up, start getting her on a team that is playing showcases in the fall. If she is younger than that get her on a...- tmolina

getting them to throw better
in the figure 8 drill, the girl is casting her arm, no lag and whip. Don't teach this. Use High Level Throwing from Wasserman, highly recommended.- tmolina

HS So far so good!
DD hit first HR last week and is leading her District and Section in Batting Average, Runs, and OBP! Third in SB's. After 12 games at 41 plate appearances. Slapping?
My daughters club team turned 5 girls from righty's to lefty slappers their first year 14u all were pretty good hitters from the right side. One of them went back to the right side after two months, dad couldn't handle the loss of production(hits for high average from right side to this day)...- tmolina

Missouri v. Oregon scary moment
I was umping a 12U friendly this past Saturday, and a pitcher took a line drive off of her mask. Scared her more than hurt her. Anybody that decides to wear a mask at any age won't hear an argument from me.- tmolina
