I guess I really don't know. I've only been on the receiving end in the past, usually the push notifications, scheduling, contact info, food schedules, etc. I don't really use apps very much. I see the apps I listed seem to be the most popular in the AppStore and Google Play for youth sports...
I will be coaching a travel team for 2018-2019 that used Team Snap last year. It was OK from a non-admin perspective but not great. It also costs about $9-10 a month. I wondered if anyone has had any success with any of the free apps.
I've been on teams that used Shutterfly before as well...
My DD is a pitcher and we found WHIP through Gamechanger this year. The problem when on a "lesser" team is that it still depends on the fielders. DD would give up a double in the OF that would be a routine FO on most teams. Same thing with grounders when the IF doesn't have the range or arms...
Maybe it's our area or maybe it's that age but this year seems to have an overabundance of A) Private tryouts long before the organizational tryouts meaning that what looked like 4 openings may be one or two by the time the tryout comes along and B) Coaches just straight up lying to their own...
We played a pool game where opposing team batted 11 the first time through but skipped #11 the second time through and went to the lead off. No one caught it at the time.
What would have happened if we had said something during the at bat?
For those of us in the north, absolutely. It's really tournament season. The whole tournament season here is about 8-9 weeks and then it's tryout season.
I think this sort of stuff is ultimately going to be a problem if it's not already. Folks are used to seeing instant replay in football, hockey, etc. These kinds of calls that are plainly seen by the fan at home and not rectified might lead a new fan to think the NCAA doesn't really care...
There's a screenshot from the RF foul pole area of this play. U1 was clearly in position to see it. I don't know how to move it here, but it's in the Mike White thread. Something needs to change. Getting the call right is the only thing that matters.
In watching the PU I thought he was so busy making the safe sign to alert everyone it was not a dead ball he forgot to see where the ball was when it was picked up. He did not have a good view of it from where he stepped out to anyways. The Duck catcher was between him and the ball. Maybe he...
If you do a Google search for DFP, the search engine states that the site may be hacked. I get a ton of security warnings from Firefox on it all the time and I also get sent to some browser hijacker to something like filestore72, which I have to go back and forward and then I am in. The host...
I saw more illegal pitches called in the last 2 weeks at a couple local U-trip tournaments than I've seen all year in NCAA. The girl I saw locally is a pitcher for one of the premier orgs around. I'm sure her coaches know she's not legal, but none of the local umpires are going to call a girl...
I posted a couple weeks ago after watching KB in action and understanding what's happening here, I saw my first replanter live. Actually my 14YO DD spotted her. Pitching in a 12U game... no calls. Had I been the opposing coach, I would have asked blue what's up with that. She looked like a...
