So, yes, I get it. Little 8u girls are cute, and the level of skill is miniscule compared to what the older crowd is dealing with, but try not to shoot us down, or crack jokes too much. I'm at the point where I'm trying not to take it TOO SERIOUSLY, but at the same time, we all want our babies to succeed
Star to struggle isn't even close to what we're dealing with in my case. The main reason we tried out for this "select" team (not many actual select type girls on there, we've only got 2-3 that could even play for some of the teams we're getting whipped by), was that we live in a small town, and the level of competition was very poor. I know that it REALLY doesn't matter that much right now. These girls are in the very beginning of their softball lives, and I fully understand the fact that until they face a real pitcher, most of this is irrelevant. We're lobbing balls up there so they can hit it, and its fun. But, problems like not keeping their eye on the ball, or being afraid of the ball, or tips on keeping your daughter from throwing the ball sidearm are still real problems at 8 years old, because this is when they start developing habits (both bad and good).
Not sure exactly what the smiley face is doing on the "Daughter Batting Help" thread. Is that a shot at me or something? A little confused. That along with the "Angry Daddy" post or whatever it was called.....was that disapproval of having an 8u select team? Color me confused.
