  • I read your post on the discussion of Megan Langenfeld back in November. A lot of back and forth comments, then I see yours which makes me feel good about my indoor practices...We are trying to correct the "wrist rollers" by staying as long as possible through the zone. I love watching Megan's swing & I don't see how anyone can argue with her success.

    CO - this "push" is not is not a swing flaw or as TheAddition posted the result of her being late on the pitch causing her to push her arms out at contact. This is an intentional move taught to the UCLA hitters by their coaches. I was told that this is one of coach Sue Enquist's philosophies (now retired) of hitting that is incorporated into the school's hitting program. At POC, they emphasize maintaining firm, strong wrists, push the arms out towards the pitcher to "hit the ball as long as possible" so as to not roll the wrists prematurely robbing yourself of power.
