Earlier this year my girls played in Canberra Australia day comp and WA had a development team in the under 15s there but we were in a different pool so didn't get to play them. That's the only comp I have seen WA team at so I cant say if I know whether their girls are hopping/ leaping but it...

Yeah there is real issues here in Vic. I coach club level and have coached at State Champs level and been part of several gold medal winning teams and its sad to say but I'm only interested in coaching a club level now as the politics and the lack of positive attitudes here in Softball just...

I wasn't at the 19 nationals this year as it was in Perth but a boy I coach played for Vic, he crow hops and there is a replant but its all continuous action and he has never been called for IP. I think everyone has different ideas on what a crow hop is but I do know that the pitchers that carry...
Sorry for taking a while to reply, different time zones with me been in Australia, over here in Australia the ISF laws have been adopted and still my girls are the only pitchers we see in female softball here utilising it. Its very taboo and its actually quite heated when raised. I guess...
I guess this is the hard bit with trying to illustrate what I mean when I say crow hop in words in a forum, over here in Australia its pretty much widely accepted in male softball both senior and junior and there is many variations of it. Some pitchers are not doing it with great mechanics so...

Agree with what you are saying, from my experience of playing mens fastpitch here in Australia and having coached junior boys where pretty much all pitchers crow hop now I have seen many different variations of pitching techniques with crow hop actions. Some do it well and others do it not so...
From the way the umpires seem to be calling it over here in Australia and what pitchers at ISF tournaments seem to be doing in the men's I think the wording of the ISF rule change isn't accurate and that is something that is concerning. One of the reasons the ISF changed the laws I have been...
Well one thing I have done is when I teach the hop I use the old action in their warm up to it, so once their arm is warm and they need to get their hips going in their warm up I get them doing jump and drag to isolate the hip movement and then when they feel good and in time then I get them...

Yeah that is a good point with the pitcher been closer to the batter however I have found that the pitcher is better balanced to field of their pitching as they have both feet planted earlier. I also have found that having the back foot planted gives a advantage by allowing a stronger push...

Sorry, will try again...
The main thing im confused about is why are not the female softball leagues at the different levels in USA not adopting the new pitching laws by ISF which allow the crow hopping style pitching? Other countries are now teaching their pitchers this and its just strange...
