    by all means, throw from the knees.. my 12u catcher started doing it because of the same reason, one she realized she could actually throw someone out from her knees, she couldn't wait for a runner to test her. after a few times, no one runs on her at all. Just work on throwing from the knees...

    The ball can be either in her hand or in her glove, but she can't touch them together more than once. Once she takes the ball from the glove, the hands have to stay separated. The best thing is for them to do is not step on the rubber until she has it separated.

    I don't think it has anything to do with her playing SS... if you actually put pen to paper, how many hard throws is she making from that position? We might have 1-2 per game. The problem is her mechanics while she is pitching. My guess is she is not open, her glove arm is probably flailing...
