It is absolutely about her. Ultimately, I gave her the decision of what she wanted to do, and she chose to stay with this team for the remainder of the season and move on in the spring.

So far, all the adults' actions, reactions, and behavior has been above reproach, at least in the case of my 4 original players. I am more concerned with how lying and deception and unsportsmanlike behavior is going to affect every player, including my my DD.

He never looked up and typed on his phone faster when I spoke to him. When my husband spoke, he typed some but at least made eye contact. This man is not shy or nervous, and I don't know him so I won't blatantly call him sexist, but he was very disrespectful and more so toward me.

Obviously, you have misunderstood. I only moved J to center because it was a scrimmage game, not for punishment. I constantly tell my kids that every spot on the field is important, otherwise it wouldn't be there. I pulled my pitcher to let the other team's pitcher take the mound for US, she...

The more I think about this and stew on it all, this is the conclusion I have come to also.

The head coach has reluctantly said we could assist, but I could tell by the manner in which he said it that he felt obligated to offer it. He already had 3 assistant coaches, and when I asked him what he needed me to do, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know. Rome wasn't built in...

Even if that means the rest of the team has to be split up? Isn't that excessive? My loyalty is with DD first and my other 3 players second, but even the rest of new coach's team would be broken up. That's unfair to those players also. I do realize *someone* is coming out of this situation...

We absolutely love coaching (both tech school instructors by day) and we did it because every coach DD has had thus far has been better at holding up the dugout than coaching. So you are right, we will still coach her, just not the team. She was disappointed because she actually thought since...

That's what I'm wondering. If I can keep the hub's mouth shut long enough, I know I could stick it out, even with the combined team. My daughter doesn't care one way or the other at this point, as long as she still gets to play ball this season. She was just very disappointed that mom and dad...

Unfortunately, there's not many other places to play league games in my area. They're an hour's drive at best. Oh, and those "other" places think my park is the cat's pajamas, if you can believe that. It will likely never change. Same people have run the place for years.

That pretty much sums it up. There are teams who shouldn't EVER be playing rec ball in that league. They just do it to beat up on the "Misfit Toy" kids and feel better about themselves because they don't want to expend the time and energy it takes to actually improve lower level players.

In both Spring and Fall leagues, they will accept coaches without teams, teams without coaches, partial teams, or players without teams. There is no specific tryout or player ability determination beforehand.

My husband and I are (were) new 10U rec coaches this season. Had a brand new group of mostly 9 year old's, but not a full team. We hovered around 6 players most of the summer, but got all the way up to ten at one point, and come draft time, we only had our most dedicated 5 actually sign up...
