    I donot truely think it's a verbal cue you are looking for...IMO what you need to do is to first sit and talk with DD as to why she changed...She is very unhappy with her performance after the change so it should be easy to help her understand that the changes she made has negatively affected...

    Throw the Barrel or Swing the knob?

    I prefer the term Throw the Barrel...Throw the Knob I am afraid may lead to some "casting" out ..But I agree TG uses the terms interchangably and as long a the term/cue is properly understood they are both fine..Throw the Barrel sounds more powerful..

    A freshman on varsity - why? why?

    Vid of my 14u DD

    I donot see loading or coiling...No seperation or negative movement..Hands are leading the swing prior to rotation.. I would start with the lower half by teaching DD to feel the load/coil..I would also try the deltoid drill..

    Big time bug squisher ..Her grip on the bat appears to be way back into her palms and perhaps her knuckles are cranked around..When she loads it looks like she in rolling over on her back foot instead of focusing the weight on the inside and feeling the pressure build up..Her focus is on the Tee...

    I took my 7th grade DD to the HS tryouts last year and nobody said a thing not even a second glance..Told DD no interaction with the players, stay quit and unassuming and I doubt there will be an issue..

    10A/B or 12C

    Unless it is a younger 12U(all 11 yr olds) I would stick with the 10U... Something else to consider is ball size...There is a big difference between 11" and 12"...
