Calculating scholarships
Had a college coach explain his scholarship budget this way: For every $5000 he spends on 1 player, he needs 5 additional players at $1000. The school ultimately wants students paying tuition. We head to a local 6 game friendly Exposure (charge more for the same thing) tournament this weekend. My team has had a tough fall. PGF Futures Qualifier this weekend. PGF trying to make a push into the area and thankfully they do attract pretty good competition which means no hotels. Praying my team gets their bats in gear this weekend. Lord knows we've watched a lot of good pitches over the last couple of weekends.- gophert

speed v. accuracy
Totally echo what everyone else is saying. Command..Movement..Velocity is for sure the order of focus. I will use pitchers on my team for example. Tryout Etiquette
Our tryout is next weekend. We are part of a large organization. I have 9 returning girls but nothing is guaranteed. I instructed them not to wear any team gear to tryout. We expect 20-30 girls and I want them competing just like everyone else. Sent from my typewriter- gophert

ASA A Nationals Anyone?
We qualified 3 weeks ago and my coaches just didn't have enough vacation time to go. We just put this team together in Jan so we really didn't know what to expect. Now we got something to build on so I'm sure there will be another opportunity. Good Luck to everyone there.- gophert

Yeah I kinda agree with everyone else. If your daughter is a #4 on a 12U C team you are not going to get more time just because you want it.
