Well that depends. The athletes Murphy is dealing with interpret loose one way. The 12 year olds I see playing league ball often interpret it another way apparently. There is loose like dad in the recliner after a toddy and there is loose like a leopard stalking and preparing to pounce. There is tight like a death grip on the bat and there is tight/taut/tonus like the aforementioned leopard. Don't be dad in the recliner and don't be tight like a frozen statue. Be the leopard.
Wow! One of the best simple analogies to explain something clearly I have seen in a very long time. You made something very hard to explain very easy to grasp and understand. I agree 100% with what you said.

Thanks. Plus, now after 10+ years I finally find I've been mispronouncing your name all these years. Luckily most of the time I recommend you I'm typing.
I should add in honesty I got the basic premise of the cat from Nyman or Englishbey. Don't recall now. Dad after the toddy is my own addition.![]()
