For me, there are so many success stories of coaches and, I assume, band directors that had very successful teams/bands without the abuse that I consider that kind of behavior completely unnecessary. Second, would you want your daughter subjected to such treatment even if it meant a WCWS victory? I wouldn't. I know a father who removed two of his daughters from a college softball team because of an abusive coach. He found another school for both of them and they are doing well.
