Don't know if it's just some recent good batches/bad batches, or that my DD is playing 14U A ball this year, but the official Dudley SB12s are getting smashed into egg shapes quite quickly. We did a friendly last weekend and I helped ump on the bases and the balls were terrible.
People say Dream Seams are pitcher friendly, maybe so, but they also are live off the bat and have been very durable in my experience. Count me in the DS camp
My DD does not like them, but if you have a pitcher that can really spin the ball you may want to look into Trump. They have a more pronounced seam than the Dudley or Dream Seam, which could be an advantage for a movement pitcher. The Trumps also seem to have better durability than most brands when they end up in the coaching bucket.
DD is a 12U pitcher and I just picked up a dozen Dream Seams at a ridiculously cheap price. We haven't had a chance to try them out yet but they feel pretty nice to me.
we tried the Macgregor X100's and the Rhinos (thinking we could get a bargain) but found the leather would split during games and they didn't hold their shape. Now we just use the Dream Seams -- they're more expensive, but also more durable and our pitchers like them.
