40'-8' = 32' / .30 = 106.66666666666667 (or round off to) 107 * .682 = 72.974mph

why would you convert it to a gif that will screw the frames up on the video from the time it leaves her hand till hitting my glove it is exactly .28 sec and that's about 35 feet from where she let go to my glove 
I just wanted you to see the distance I'm using....I'm just guessing your set up... I don't see a home plate ect... My point is a (wind chill, or real feel) @ 4-5' when its batters last chance to swing... I'm saying thats what they are seeing.

she let go about 5 feet out and I am sitting right on the plate so about 35 feet
I'm Lookin @ 2nd Pitch... 9frames @ 29.97fps & .30sec.

when I catch her I just sit right on the plate. makes the strike zone more realistic if your at catchers spot sitting on bucket it makes them throw high
so the distance is 35 feet in .3 sec
If you got her set @ 40', she leaps 6'...and your probably 3' from plate ??? If I could see a plate ??? Anyways I think you see what I'm saying. I'm guessing. But I got mine set w/ plate and marks out from it...

but the other thing is you can not use a gif it has to be a video gif frames are not the same when you convert the video you need to use original video not a gif
I'm going to get a helper, and shot from the side view, with lots of markers. Shot 10 pitches and radar them @ same time then go back and ajust my my formula. I'm very happy with how close it was from today, and holdin to it...
