"the coach said he doesnt like that way she pitches.."

I'll bet he doesn't..........She's a little TOO good for her age in his eyes..........Probably worried about his kid getting hit with this kind of power..........

What I see here is that she is SO good at catching the whip, the ball is coming out a little early at times.........Missing inside sometimes correct?........OUTSTANDING..........

I would work with her on hitting the outside corner more often with the spin staying slightly to her right........It will tweak her release just enough to teach her to control where she wants the ball to go.............

Overall.......This is outstanding for an 8-9 year old.........

Thank you.. she knew exactly what she did on that pitch.. and yeah usually when she misses inside, she comes back and almost over adjusts, but its often not too bad. I will see if i can get some side shots of her this weekend.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.. she will love it!!

We watched your post in the I/R thread.. and just practiced and practiced.. she is the only one on her team that is taught this way.. "the coach said he doesnt like that way she pitches.. :)"

try to keep the smug grin to yourself in spring when she starts mowing them down and girls with more experience are throwing slower. One big point I would make to her is that it does not matter if she hits batters at this age. Missing inside is a good thing! I took this to heart when I read it from BM.

thanks for the comments.. I will show her these and hopefully it will want her to keep at it and work even harder.. :) We are starting to mess around with a changeup a little bit, do you guys think it is a good idea and do you think the circle change would be good for her?

I also have to give some props to Bill Hillhouse.. she went to him a few weeks ago, and we look forward to going to him once again in the new year.

I'm sure Bill gave her/you some great pointers. But lets face it.........You don't look this good after one lesson from anyone........He must have been excited to see a young kid so advanced.........

No BM, actually it was just one lesson. I completely made her into this in 1 hour. Before seeing me, she had never even touched a softball before.

:)
