The college softball season kicks off this week!

What game(s) are you excited about seeing? I'm looking forward to OSU vs LSU on Friday. OSU is a fringe top 25 team with hopes of making the tournament. A win here would be a huge early boost.

D-II teams played for a week now. UMSL's Hannah Perryman threw her first Perfect Game of the year on Sunday. That gives her 7 Perfect Games in her career. BB called her and she was so excited. UMSL is currently ranked 7th in D-II and is off to a 4-0 season. Alex Stupek will probably break BB's records and she is off to a great start as well. Both of these young ladies are outstanding young ladies from fantastic families.

My DVR schedule has started to fill up with college games. Looks like the Texas Longhorns are broadcasting all the games from their weekend tournament - not just the ones they are playing in. Thumbs up for that.

Already watched some good NAIA games streaming online from last week.

Going down to the Florida Atlantic tournament to watch some games this weekend - they host three weekend tournaments in a row to start the season (must be nice). They should be VERY good this season. Also almost all their opponents have local girls on, so going to be great to see some familiar faces I haven't seen play for awhile back in town.

Didn't mean to slight the D II and III folks out there! As a former D III athlete, I wouldn't to that. Just was thinking along the lines of games we can watch on the ESPN app. I saw they had a D II baseball game on last week. Hopefully, they'll expand into the lower levels for softball as well!

Well I'm looking forward to seeing how other DFP kid are doing.

Unfortunately Brooke tore her knee up and is out for the year with surgery scheduled for March 2. But I'll be checking in on other DFP kids. Hope they all tear it up and stay HEALTHY.

Sorry to hear that. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

I don't have any experience picking teams, since I was never into sports before. But the college games we watched last year, I most enjoyed Auburn. They just seemed fun and spunky. I hope to catch some of their games this year. We'll probably go see Kennesaw State play quite a bit. It's about half an hour from my house, and they don't charge admission for home games. We went last year as a team and it was great. Our girls waited outside the players' locker room after the game, and the players went and got a bunch of pens and spent a long time hanging out, signing autographs and chatting with the young girls (they were 8U). It was really awesome.
