Not lost - just no idea where I am

Good consensus emerging. MacLobo makes good point about playing OF from 10U onward. Not just burnout, but stunted development. My biggest regret in 10U is not shuffling players around defensively more than I did.

I shuffled positions a lot in 10U/12U and STILL regret not doing it more. I probably now do it more in 14U whenever I get a chance - it is a little easier because by 14U they all can field at a reasonable level where ever you put them so your drop off (excellent to pretty good) isn't as bad as it was in the younger ages (good to can't even catch or throw) and more balls are going to the outfield anyway so hiding someone gets harder and harder (please don't hit to RF on our team - it is still an adventure out there most days).

I have a total D1-quality Center Fielder - gets to absolutely everything and has a big arm. At least twice a weekend she comes in and plays 2B. It goes against every 'winning' instinct I have, but we still do it. It gives other players a chance to play CF, it rewards all the grounders work she has done in practice, it gives her a chance to play another position, and so on. She is missing a tournament in 2 weeks time doe to school - I have players who can fill in for her very, very well.
