It was an outside pitch.
The opposing coach was furious b/c the batter got out of the box.

Even more so now, sounds like he has some misplaced anger. I'm going to go ahead and guess the jackrabbit is his DD and he can't believe that she was thrown out unless someone failed to execute on some part of some play, and it can't be his DD that was at fault, so he instead blames the batter... the left-handed batter who moved away from a catcher who was already moving away from her.

If it was an outside pitch it's obvious that the reason he was mad was because his daughter was the girl thrown out. There might have been a college scout
who might get the impression that she can't run from first to second in under 2 seconds.

This guy is pretty intense, mind you this is a 10U team! We are both "invited" to PGF and his win at all cost approach to even a friendly is quite the spectacle.

If the batter's on the plate the catcher should seek out contact as the runner will be called out. If the runner's clearly going to be safe and the batter is anywhere close to the plate she should try to seek out contact and sell it. She might get an interference call.

So staying in the box is ok, however love to within or approaching the plate is a nono?
