Our V was eliminated today. My JV ended its season last week. My JV had an outstanding year going 14-4 but we lost 10 games to rain. My JV won a major tournament that no one thought we could win. Our V was 21 -13. We came so far and I am excited about next year. Now, we have a hitting system in place and I can make sure that they are progressing as many are going to take lessons from my dd. We will have all of our pitching back next year.
I wanted to make an observation here. We are so blessed to be able to coach. One of my good friends is a coach and so, I call him "Coach." He once asked me why I called him Coach and not by his name. I responded that Coach is a position of honor and I don't just use that phrase. When you look at players who have put a lot into an effort and it hurts them to end the year, you know you have done something right. One player was avoiding me and so, I went up to her to give her a hug as I do with all of the players at the end of the year. She said, as she started crying, that she was so sorry for letting me down. I told her how proud I was of her. Please keep in mind that our players want to work hard and they don't want to disappoint us. Sure there are exceptions. However, our players do care and they do leave it all on the field. I've said it so many times but it is the truth, I am the most blessed person I know.
Take care,
Darrell
