CIF-SS allowed practice calendar

Ok, our team didn't make it to the playoffs so we're done. However, the girls still want to practice. I'm not coming back as their coach next year but I'm still working at this school. I will be helping out whenever I have time. So my question is, as our season is finished, are we still allowed to practice until the end of CIF playoffs finals? That runs through early June. And after that, are we allowed to practice year round? I thought they abolished the no practice rule for most sports years ago but maybe they re-implemented that? I don't see anything in the current rulebook that forbids practice year round for softball. If it is forbidden, can we play whiffle ball without gloves? If only conditioning is allowed beyond the dead period, then that's what I'll offer to every athlete at the school.

#2510. SUMMERTIME RULES/SUMMER DEAD PERIOD/SPORTS CAMPS #2510.1 With the exception of the summer dead period, until the beginning of the first official starting date for fall sports, there shall be no restriction on high school coaches working with high school students registered and/or attending their respective high school or entering them in summer competition, provided approval is received from the school principal.

Sounds like we can practice?

As far as I understand it, you have the 21 day dead period over the summer as the only restrictions. It would probably be best to discuss plans with the A.D. Of your school so there is no conflict or misunderstanding.

You might have an issue with insurance if you are using HS fields.

Yes, Good point canyonjoe. I have buy insurance like a travel ball team and fill out a use permit for the field.
