Certified softball maniac
I had a team w/ 3 Sams and 3 Allies with all 3 of each in the IF at the same time (at various times) - nicknames can help, but I still prefer "I got" or "mine" w/ positional priority winning out when more than one are calling.

I can talk softball all day
If there was a 100% foolproof way, after 100+ yrs of baseball we would not be having the discussion. It happens even at MLB level occasionally. Two or even three fielders tracking a ball and hollering at same time may not even hear the others.

In the outfield CF is the queen bee. She calls it, it's hers.
On balls on the infield SS is the queen bee. She calls it, it's hers.
On balls that are going to be shallow in the outfield where the infield is going to be going back my rule is that the infielder owns the ball and doesn't say a word. Outfielder calls it if she's going to get to it, and then it is hers. (much like jimginas wasn't clear whether their infielders called it out loud.)

As part of the overall question ... Communication should be 2 way.
"I've got your back" or "I'm here if you need me" to let the other player know they can lay out for a ball if needed.
"FENCE" to let the other player know when they are getting close to a fence is also nice to hear when needed.
