So there's a 9U girl who has been pitching for a little over a year and takes "private lessons" from a PC. Our season has just started (REC). We have a solid as a rock #1 (and no it's not DD lol). Steady and consistent. Usually good for 2 K's at a minimum. Our #2 (not DD, either) is good......when she remembers NOT to hit the batter and slowly come apart.
Then comes this #3. Here's the thing. She's not bad. She just doesn't practice at home. It's obvious. It's small stuff that reps would fix. Mainly footwork and timing of her release. Her mom has filled her head with lofty goals of "full ride scholarship, CSWS, NPF, and D1 HC afterward". No....I'm not kidding or exaggerating. She comes to practice once a week and she sees her PC once a week. Do any of you "parent whisperers" have a method of explaining that they are setting the child up for failure if they expect a $50 lesson and 1 REC practice to turn the child into Jenny Finch?!?!? The kid is a good kid. Just completely unrealistic based on the lack of time.
