What shoes do you coaches use on the field? My DW is putting her foot down and making me buy new shoes since my are old, dirty, lacking support, and getting close to the holy side. I don't like to buy new stuff for myself but since my ankle, back, and knees are not doing so well I wanted to see what kinda shoes anyone would recommended to handle the typical coaching lifestyle.

Stay away from sandals. I learned the hard way back when I coached. Just one of the many reasons I determined I'm a better fit in the stands than in the dugout :)

I used molded cleats (Under Armour) especially if the fields are muddy. You might consider mid high-tops or regular high-tops to protect the ankle from stray balls if you are spend a lot of time on the field in practice and games.

I have went to Ringors molded cleats with protect toe. With the heat coming off the infield, here, at 110 degrees, I get the best shoes and socks that I can find. I tried the Ringor field shoe and the sole just did not last.

I really like my Boombah Rage Turf shoes. Fortunately for me, there's a retail store close by so that I can avoid the shipping costs (which are kind of high unless you buy more than one pair of shoes). This is my third season with the shoes and they've held up well...very comfortable. They're offered in a wide range of colors so if you want to match the team, the option is there.

I second MWazu. I have an old pair of Boombah Resistance turfs (3rd season). They are extremely comfortable and have held up over time.
