I'd give some memento and say something genuinely nice to each of them.

To me, giving an MVP award is sorta like saying 'this is what rec ball is about, being the best, so we're rewarding that above anything else.' That's not the way I see rec ball. I don't really care who my best players are aside from the help it provides in making out the lineup. I don't value a .600 hitter more than a lesser rec player who enjoys every second she's on the field. It's ''recreational,'' so the best award might be the one who had the most fun. That's unlike travel ball, where I do value better players, assuming they're good teammates.

One team DD was on they gave every kids a ball with some award like toughest, fastest, Most walks, most improved, etc. At this point you want to give the kids some
incentive to play next year.

At 12U participation trophies are kind of lame even in rec, IMO. I'm all for using positive stats (or funny negative ones) and talking about each girl, but I just buy them ice cream.

My wife takes pictures throughout the year. She prints up playing cards for all the girls. We give a set to each girl with a pen if they want to get them signed. We throw some candy and a little trinket in the bag. Call up each girl 1 by 1 and say something nice about them. No awards.

Anyway, that's what we do at rec, YMMV.

I take action photo's of each girl, a team photo and add a logo and make "baseball cards" for each player with their stats on the back.
I get them laminated. Very well received
