Are there any coaches who don't claim to be aggressive at base running?

Exactly... I guess PP doesn't realize the catcher has to throw the ball accurately back to the pitcher and the pitcher has to catch it. Our league is a beginners 10U rec league and they struggle with the basics. I like to teach them correct baserunning too and since that stuff doesn't work in the tourneys why run up the score in rec league regular season... the girls are too good there. Even telling them the correct way to defend it doesn't mean they will remember what we just told them.

As for learning rules... no comment.

I also said it ruined the game to me (and my team)... not for everybody everywhere.

If your catcher cant throw it 30 feet and your pitcher cant catch it....you need to get two kids who can. DO NOT RUN THE RUNNER BACK TO THIRD!! EVER!!!! Your families will be playing soccer and lacrosse next year if you do.

Ive coached every level from 10U to high school. We take every base, every time, every chance we can...until we are up 7 to 10 and then and only then do we take out foot off their throats. OTOH - other coaches do it to me too. and when they do...WE LEARN FROM IT. We go home to second on walks if they don't cover second. But that ONLY happens once...then they learn. And by the time they are in 14U, they are the best baserunners and defnders in the league. Without fail. It's not personal, it's softball. Teach them top take every 60 feet every chance they get. And definitely know the Look back rule.
