Don't feel bad I have the same issue with our rec team, although after about 4 games we have gone from 3 for sure strike outs to having only 1. That last one sure is giving us coaches some trouble

Don't know if I'll coach 8U rec ball again, but this is what I'm doing if I get the chance. The players' desire to participate and get better at this age is greater than their desire to win, so give them what they want. Otherwise, you're serving your own competitive desires and perhaps that of a few of the parents. Plus, you'll probably win just about as many anyway.
