We have two slappers on our 12U. The coaches disagree on the batting order. One likes them 1 & 2 to get on base and get things going. The other wants to spread them out. What would you do?

They are 1 & 2 in OBP and in the top 4 in OPS. Our 2 power hitters round out the top 4 OPS. However, we have a few others right in the mix as well.

What is the argument to spread them out and to where? Put one of them at 8th or 9th?

1 and 2 sounds good but I would be interested in hearing the other opinion.

Agree with others ... if they are high OBP and good speed, I definitely want them 1-2. Now if you had a 3rd, I'd bat the weakest of the three 9th, and definitely not 1-2-3.

1-3, power 2-4 at a guess, without having the numbers. If you have the numbers, send me the OBP and SLG for all 4 and I'll plug them into my Sabermagic auto lineup generator for you.

I think it's just to mix up what the defense has to deal with and create situations. They had been 1 & 2 but were 1 & 6 in three games in the last tourney. It actually took a plate appearance away from one of them in two of those games. Not sure if that trade off was worth it.

What was the reasoning for dropping her to 6? That seems pretty low in the order for someone in top 2 in OBP. I could almost see dropping one of them a couple of spots, maybe, but not to 6.
