The time limit for dd#2 rec games has been extended to 2 hours. I am looking for ideas to keep the girls into the game the whole time. Any ideas appreciated.

Ugg, no ideas but you have my sympathy. Hopefully that is a drop dead time.

If you have a DH because of makeup get together with the other HC and make your own rules up. :)

That is a long time at any age group. I do not think I could watch 10U for 2 hours straight. Better have lots of pitchers. Maybe a 30 minute half-time show and juice boxes and cup cakes? :)

My son's 8U rec games were 2 hours last year. Then the coach wanted them there an hour early also. It was brutal. Kid pitch topped it off. First inning rules were all kid pitch, then after that batter's coach pitched after 4 balls. The first inning would sometime last around an hour. The pitchers were embarrassed, fielders saw no hit balls, batters getting hit by pitches, some umpires making HUGE expansions to strike zone to try to speed it up, parents and coaches getting mad when their kid got called strikes when the pitch was over their head, then mad when other kids didn't get called on it. Then parents yelling at it each other...it really was dysfunctional. Thinking about making a realty show.

Ask if two hours is enough and then suggest a marathon game/sleepover.

What was the explanation for the extension to 2 hours?

Not sure of the reason for the extension. The rules are set by the the leagues commissioners and this one just showed up. I have been asking for my org's commissioner to fight this. We will adjust regardless - just looking for some innovative ways to do it.

Hey...between innings, why don't we have a group of three parents run a home-to-home? Let the kids bet on who is going to win.
