Our old 10U rec league played 65 min double headers with about 10 minutes between games. The first year was ugly with most games being walk fests, but by second year 10U it started to resemble the game of softball.

We're 2 hrs (no new new inning, no drop dead) at 10U rec and I'm that coach that ask the kids to be there an hour early. Never had a problem with the kids getting bored or losing interest. On the other hand if pitching is a problem the parents can get quite bored.

Ho snap! I don't think we've ever played a tourney game with longer than a hour twenty time limit. 10-18U. All of her rec games she had played were 60-70 minutes.

My kid gets out of school (2nd grade last spring) 4:20 by the time he got home, quick snack, change into baseball uniform, then jet across town to be at the park by 5:00. Game start at 6:00, last until 8:15-8:30, after game meeting, snack handout, jet back home getting there about 8:45. Eat supper, go to bed. Twice a week everyweek, three times a week on at least three weeks. Not one single boy "excited" about baseball the end of the season.

Are there any pitching limits? Our league has innings limits by the week. Without much pitching depth.... It can become a low scoring basketball game.

Our rec is an hour. ASA is 60 minute games, 75 drop dead. Not so much in rec, but in ASA they are real big on getting on and off the field and limiting pitchers to 5 warm-ups.

For the two hour games do they slow the pace? How many innings do you fit into two hours?

For 10U, 4-5 innings is typical in a 1:40 no-new game. If it's two of the better teams where the 5-run limit isn't bumped into multiple times, 6 innings isn't unusual. If we only played 1 hour, not very many players would get a second at-bat. In some cases, you would get players who didn't even get one at-bat.

5 warm-up pitches and quick on/of the field is normal routine.

When I ran our local rec league, I put a 2 hour time limit on the games because the games routinely ran OVER 2 hours! Parents of the younger kids (10U and below) were adamant that they had to play a 6 inning game because that was an "official" game in LL. Good Grief! :(

We play 1:30, no drop dead. For 10U (modified coach pitch, 6 run limit) most games were four innings. A couple were five, and a couple were only three when you'd get those nightmare half-innings that go 25-30 minutes.
