Great list by Peppers!

My only comment would be to watch those parents when they help.

and check with your league to see if it's even allowed.

our league, unless you are "certified" by the league you can't help at practice or games. Certification includes: finger printing, background check, and minimum 2 coaching clinics per season (one of which must be a positive coaching workshop for first year coaches in the league).

My coaching mentor told me this and it always stuck with me:
You should always correct and criticize your players, but in such way that it's clear to them you are 100% confident they are able to take your directions and be better players.

Following after a group of coaches like you described is not easy. However, the tendency can be to be too soft which is not good either. There is generally always something that is done right in a play regardless of whether or not it is successful. Make sure to follow your corrections with some sort of positive reinforcement.

After each drill have a contest to see which group can perform the drill the best. They have to finish first while performing the proper technique of the drill. It's not only about the speed, but doing it right first then speed second. My girls love this. This also motivates them to learn the drill knowing there may be a contest later, and their peers will need their help to succeed.

Ours does this, I was going to give free pitching lessons and so I came in at registration and filled out the paperwork for a background check.
