Spring season about to get underway... evals/draft/etc coming up over the next few weeks... Ill be coaching a 6U team which is going to be interesting after doing 12U and 10U over summer/fall.
My youngest DD (6yr old) comes over yesterday and tells me how excited she is for season to get started! She is jumping for joy - here is how the conversation went:
DD: "Dad I just cant wait for the season to start!"
Me: "Neither can I! Cant wait to be your coach again! You're going to get better at hitting, fielding, and running!"
(Mind you neither my 12yr old or 11yr old were as excited ever as the 6yr old was)
DD: "When is opening day.. is it this weekend!"
Me: "No its a few weeks away.. but dont worry practices will start in a week"
DD: "Awwww but I cant wait a few weeks... they give candy out in opening day and have face painting.. Im excited to get and throw candy! and have a tiger painted on my face"
*SIGH* I should have known at 6yrs old its all about the candy, facepaint, and banners! - at least its a good reminder as to whats important for a 6U team: FUN!
Remember FUN is the key word regardless of age!
