OK, good advice all - my recommendation to the parents will be simple:
- Bring your bats in tonight from the cold and keep them inside over night (rather than leaving in the car like most do)
- Should be fine tomorrow - if you are concerned, buy a bat warmer or microwave a towel to warm and put it around the bat in between at bats.
- If you don't want to risk it, carry your aluminum bat.
