Other day seeing DD's college team play for the first time I saw something that made me go "no duh, what a good idea!".

After a K the round the horn flight went catcher to 1b to PITCHER back to 1b to SS to 2b to 3b back to pitcher.

I don't think I ever saw that before but what a great way to keep the pitcher in-tune, in the game, with the overhand throw. How many times have we seen that underhand pitcher field a ball and then T-Rex an overhand throw to god knows anywhere else but the 1st baseman's glove on a fly...?

Probably not "new" but I never saw it......

Why didn't you tell me you had seen my daughter pitch? The entire stands holds their collective breath whenever the ball is hit to her. Will the ball go in the dirt? Over the 1st baseman's head? And then there is the ever popular go for the lead runner at 2nd and have the ball settle at the base of the outfield fence. Thanks for the post I will send her the tip. :)

I have seen many umpires tell the coach "no more" in timed TB games...ostensibly because it delays the game...but I'd rather have a "round the horn" then all the infielders running in to the pitching circle after every K...

I haven't seen this around the horn sequence, but this is that outside of the box thinking that makes sense to the dad of a fastpitch softball pitcher. I've always told my dd to request a new softball from the ump when she needed to mix in an overhand throw thruout the game, but I wouldn't tell anyone that she is doing that. doh!

Have also seen this. To which we reply "If the batter is in the box and you are waiting for us, enforce the rule as written instead of making up your own." There are rules in place to govern the pace of the game. Do not understand why people feel the need to make crap up.
