I would like to take this time to say thank you. This spring I was asked to coach a 10U All Star team from our league. The league currently supplies girls to 5 travel teams in the area which draws the talent pool down. We had three girls who could pitch but none very well. We have walked a lot of girls and allowed lots of unearned runs.

Over the past 2 1/2 months these girls have figured it out. I can honestly say every girl on the team has contributed in a big way as some time. Now we are still not real good but we have improved significantly. This past weekend we won a game that was played like a real softball game. We have won some games in the past but it was mostly due to the other teams pitcher melting down. This past game was well played by both teams.

On the way home I was on cloud nine reflecting on the journey so far and thought of this message board. I have not posted a lot but have mined this forum for nuggets of information. I have used lots of what I have found here. I think all of you guys have help me coach this team.

Congrats coach, that is what its all about. Its great to hear when players are making improvements, that is the real success.

Awesome job! I see so many coaches believe that it is all about the girls "learning" to play the game. That is only half of it. The most important part is the coach learning the game and how to teach it! Well done!
