99.99% of the time when I have to leave work early I can. But this week is that .01% rare occurrence. This is the first time ever that I will miss one of the games my team plays in because of work. I haven't missed any one of them for any reason. I have always been there to coach them. But today (Friday), a non-Nationals, non-World Series Tourney put us to play at 11 am local time. I know I am leaving them in the capable hands of my assistant who has been coaching with me for 6 years now. It's just going to be a long morning for me.

/rant or even better....end whining about having to work. LOL!!!

I'm no longer a head coach, but I can recall only once missing a game when I was. It was a game in a travel league (which was a great idea while it lasted), and we were big underdogs. According to witnesses, my daughter put down a bunt, and the opposing team threw the ball down the right field line, scoring the winning run. It was the prettiest bunt ever, according to sources. But I'm skeptical. I think they were just trying to make me feel good. It worked.

Just found out. We gave up 5 runs on three errors in the first inning, played 7 innings and got beat 5-0. One bad inning got us but then again, we didn't score...so there ya go. :) We just didn't hit is what I understand. Here's to a better day tomorrow.
