Busy weekend, and I am out of town picking up a car I left parked in Brooklyn the past year (recent repairs so it runs well now) and some stuff I left when I lived in NYC briefly. Then a short solo 1000 mile drive to Wisconsin.

Today is homecoming day for the kids' HS. DD 2 and 3 are going to the game in separate groups. DD 3's group is about a dozen kids, DD 2's group is almost 40 kids. Several softball players in both groups, even though DD 2 doesn't play softball.

Saturday morning DD 2 and 3 have a cross country meet.
Saturday evening all the kids in DD 3's group go out to eat together before the dance. DD 2's group is so big they are going to two different restaurants. One of the softball players in DD 2's group will miss the festivities for a tournament, but that girl's father occasionally posts on DFP, so he can say what his DD is doing if he wants.
Saturday night DD 3 will stay at the home of her fall ball team's HC's DD, another girl in her group, and get a ride with them to some games on Sunday.

Saturday night DD 1 is visiting from college 5 miles away to help out with everything.

Sunday DD 3 goes to the county south of ours for some league play games.

DS is in a dinky little rowing regatta close to Green Bay on Sunday. Two races, should get gold or silver in both.

Sunday evening I get back home having missed all the excitement. Lucky me.

If I'd known sooner, my girls in Brooklyn might've made you an offer on the wheels you couldn't refuse!

Safe travels home and good luck to the clan.

Friendly this Sunday and tournaments for the next three weeks with one 250 miles away. Plan on seeking out some of the best teams surrounding our state in 2017. Looking forward to going to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas (maybe Colorado) should be a great 2017 softball season!!

Rain, rain, rain. No softball, no HS soccer, no conflicts. We need the rain but I might have to resort to cooking and doing laundry now that all sports are canceled for the weekend

Thanks for the good wishes.

Better for them that they didn't.
Apparently Saab is Swedish for "money pit".

Car isn't street legal in NY, but fine for Wisconsin.

Friendlies in WM's 'hood on Sunday. #1 pitcher got hit in the head with a fly ball lost in the sun last week while playing CF. She's out indefinitely with a concussion. #1 catcher (my kid) is recovering from her second MCL sprain in the last 2 months. She's out for at least another week. #1 CF has been running a fever for the last couple of days, and is questionable for the weekend. Fun, fun...

I know the feeling, Eric. I'm battling a minor injury myself right now. I'm battling muscle spasms in my quads. I've had it since the game Tuesday. Sending healing vibes to your catcher beast (Maddie) so that she can hit the field again as quickly as possible.

we played in the Showcase at BLD this weekend. DD got seen by a lot of great colleges on the lovely fields of Jarupa.

Some of the colleges in attendance were:

Jethro's College of Auto Repair and Tow truck operation
USCCA- University fof South Central Crack Addicts
Trump University
ITT Tech
Barstow Beauty College

They all expressed interest in DD, I couldn't be happier with our first "showcase" experience. The umpiring was fantastic, foul balls that hit the net overhanging the batters box could be caught by our catcher for outs. Runners were allowed to advance as many bases as desired on balls that were thrown out of play. Girls were not allowed to be tagged out for any reason and strike zones shifted like the sands of the Sahara in a hurricane. The fields were great because it helped the girls be more agile by jumping over sprinkler heads and gopher holes while chasing balls rolling downhill in the outfield.

At least we didn't have to pay a lot, only $750 and then a $5 admission for each non player every day.

Wonderful experience had by all, way to go Triple Crown Sports you low quality asshats.
