I never realized how much time softball actually takes up

Until we started getting our house ready to sell. Found some pre-softball pictures. I had flowers in my yard, grass was mowed, paint was fresh, and stuff was organized.

Now the only thing organized is my suv with all our softball gear in it. My yard is a mess, my flower beds have disappeared, my deck looks old.

House goes on the market on Friday. I am now rushing to make my once beautiful home and yard, look a little less tired. I am thinking when we buy our next home, I am going to hire a gardener. Although it may help that we are moving 5 minutes away from the girls' teams, instead of 75 minutes :p

So how do you juggle it all? How do you keep from being "that" house in the neighborhood?

Just be proud to be " that house". The house being perfect, the yard looking like a golf course, is not what your dd will remember. The memories she will remember are the times you have spent together, cheering her, crying sometimes and just showing how much you love her.

We are that house. We're in the process of hiring a lawn service so our HOA doesn't start fining us.

I've been that house for 12 years now. Heck, it's even got so bad that my neighbors have mowed my grass for me so that I don't get fined by the city. It should get better now that I have regular hour job but I can guarantee you it's still gonna be ugly.

We are very lucky to not have a HOA in our neighborhood but we do have neighbors who refer to us as the white trash house. No garbage laying around, just unmowed grass and a white front porch that needs to be pressure washed. Doesn't look bad, just tired. We do have very judgemental neighbors but...we aren't really home enough to care lol!

We do what we can when we can, realizing that softball time is finite and the yard will still be there when DD is in college in less than 2 years...

I'm that house lol. Riding mower in the garage and yet I still pay for people to mow the yard. I don't rake the leaves, neighbors love that, I leave at 4am and come home at 11pm slamming car doors. Yeah we are those people also, but it's worth it.

I gave in about 4 years ago, and I pay a lawn guy 27 bucks every two weeks for his crew to mow, edge, blow and bag. Worth every penny IMO. I have so many different trees on my property that leaves and needles fall year round and the city has gone green which requires those crappy biodegradable bags to be used. Those things fall apart so easily and they were the bane of my existence for 6 months. I'll probably start working on my beds next weekend.

Now that my kid is in high this spring will be interesting. I will have my weekends back until TB starts back up. I was even able to tidy up my garage (hitting Dojo) on Sunday. Such a great feeling of accomplishment. DD was not so much impressed though.

My dd graduated from HS and went away to college. No more 3 sports to watch no band concerts to go to... She is 3 hours away and in charge of what she does and when. In October I realized that all those things I said I would do if I had the time were still going undone. I went out and joined a gym I work out 4-5 times a week and have lost 20 pounds. I'll let you know in the summer if the yard and garden look better

Projects get done November - February range and maybe in the summer. I have to add shoe molding to our stairs and finish a mud room type project. Time is running out and the DW wants to redo the master bathroom. My yard is supposed to be the big spring project....whenever extra time get invented.
