Access to Bill Barber park for practice is enough of a reason to put Irvine Sting very high on the list of teams to tryout for.

Blind draws can really get imbalanced-all 5 teams that I really thought would be tough are in the same bracket.

Texas Stealth folks are convincing me that all my prejudices are pretty accurate- One guy yelled to our girls that they must be scared because our center fielder happened to tie her shoes with time expiring. Another one pretty much guaranteed that one of three Texas teams will win it all. And the girls did the whole trying to distract the pitcher stuff during pitches, they also did the old "too slow" thing during the high five line and pulled their hands away after we beat them.

Most of these 10u teams would beat most 12u teams around. How can so many girls play this sport so well at 10-11 years old.

Big tournaments really bring out the crazy in parents and coaches.

SoCal As Expanded their roster a lot for PGF- they brought in a bunch is their 05s to pinch run and get the experience of a national tournament. How cool is that? Everyone else was searching for ringers and they used the opportunity to get a head start on building next season's team.

DD is having a blast.

Nice that your DD (and you ) are having a blast.

As for the quote, pathetic...coaches should be ashamed of themselves for allowing it - but they probably condone it and even teach it...

opening cereomonies-

man...girls are crazy for pins...not sure how she did it but DD left with 25 and came home with 30....I hope this didn't involve actual theft

Jenny Finch was an hour late....then she didn't say a word to the girls as she signed balls, just sign-click-next....I had my doubts about her always being the default celebrity at these things and they were confirmed...time to spread the love a little in the softball ambassador roles and get some new blood out there...

DD asked me if I like Jenny's mechanics and I said they were great....then she said that Jenny demonstrated how you push the ball down the circle then snap and finish with hello elbow and I explained that Jenny pitches great but doesn't actually teach how she pitches...

They LOVED Sue Enquist....but who doesn't? Apparently she really fired them up.

and this would not be complete without a scheduling complaint....game 1- 8 am...if we win, game 2 is like 7 pm or 8 pm....wtf? Not as bad as the 6 game losers bracket older DD might face at USSSA this week but still 10 year old girls should not wake up at 6 and go to sleep at 11. (these are 7 inning games).

Unfortunately you will find that every state has more than their fair share of obnoxious fans.

Not California, our fans are sooooooo laid back.

When SoCal Athletics came to ASA Nationals last year for 10u, the fans were very laid back. Just an all around great group of girls and parents.
