My DD#2 team got another tie! Hey at least we are undefeated early in the season! My DD#2 biggest issue has always been base running.. think deer in the headlights type of baserunner... well today Im one happy dad! Tied game, last inning 2 outs and she's at first... runs like hell on a steal to 2nd (one of the best fielders is playing short and taking the throw downs) - catcher makes a perfect throw...
Im "ah crap bad way to end the game, she will be out" only to see her pull a perfectly timed hook slide around the tag... she ended with hands fully stretched laying flat out facing first base on the back of 2nd base... perfect execution and would have been out with any other kind of slide...
Im still grinning...and no she didnt score the winning run but she managed to fight her way to 3rd base and was one past ball or hit from scoring... cant ask more of a baserunner starting at 1st!
