I am wondering if anyone wants to roll around in the dirt a little and admit that they have taken great pleasure in reveling in their daughter's success against a team/coach/player that may have smack talked/overlooked/ or otherwise dissed your little princess. DD and a teammate have the opportunity to dish out some payback in the near future and I am really looking forward to the game.

A couple of local newspapers reported that my DD had signed with South Carolina. Although I had no direct communication there were a few coaches, players, and parents who scoffed at her going the JUCO route to which crow was duly served. :)

My daughter, and our family, are looking forward to the a game in the HS season. My daughter was snubbed for less talented players on a varsity team last season. To make matters worse when we asked the coaching staff and AD they said our daughter was no good and would sit the bench all season. To give a little perspective on my daughter she was MVP and Gold glove on the JV team as a pitcher.

Heard that during the winter the entire varsity coaching staff was fired. It was a little vindication but really wanted them to be there when the two teams play.

I am seriously resisting giving my quiet, shy daughter some smack talk/taunting lessons....if I was pitching I would be pointing to the dugout after I K'd a couple of these players, but DD is a far better human than me, but I can secretly hope she at least glares at them after she sits them down. I hope she gets to pitch against them, they are a weak team and something tells me that they won't pitch her or our other dominant pitcher (also with a little axe to grind in this game for similar reasons as they were both teammates with some of these girls on a drama ridden team last summer).

There was this dude on a fastpitch softball forum who was all up in my grill all the time about California being the be all, end all regarding fastpitch and he called me names and made fun of my state and was relentless in his personal attacks and then last summer we played in a tournament in Colorado and lo and behold our first opponent was against a team from california the same state where this dude is from, the one who kept boasting about California softball and so i thought to myself "oh no these California teams are too good for us" and I only hoped that we would be competitive and like not suck too badly against this team from California because again I knew from this dude that california teams were super cool and talented and stuff and then wouldn't you know that we went out and beat this team from california by like 12 runs and stuff and I thought to myself "take that you softball forum bully from california" and i remembered that old expression about revenge being a dish best served cold and of course it's pretty darn cold in minnesota youbetcha.

I wouldn't say this was a revenge story, more like getting some self gratification.

DD tried out for one of the larger organizations in our area, she had a great tryout and she was invited to join the organization, she was placed on the "new" team they had just created, I would call it a "C" type team. We declined the invitation politely and stayed with our current team.

We faced the "C" team and DD had a good day but the organization head wasn't there to witness.

In our last showcase game of the season we played this organization's "A" team (coached by org. head) and DD had a great game (1B, 2B, OF HR and 5 RBI's) plus a few great defensive plays. The opposing coach came over afterwards and said I knew I screwed up when you declined.

Definitely a class organization and very nice people just wasn't a good fit for DD at the time
