On our last episode...

Eric F was going for some big hardware...
Large swaths of the country not smart enough to move were breaking out the heaters...they have since then been covered by 6 feet of lake effect snow (whatever that is)...

My girls set me up with 8 games over two days....the good news...lil DD was killing it, just knocking the crap out of the ball, making great plays on D and holding it down behind the plate....this diminished the pain I felt watching another hard grounder go through the wicket like legs of older DD, she did pitch well, but I am beginning to think that instead of taking the field on D we should just go to the scorer, tell them to put an E next to DDs name and have her bat and pitch.....

this weekend is the last one for older DDs fall season, little one plays too so we get 6 games of weekend magic...

dad continues to work 12 hour days and try to juggle client needs....I am coming up with new and unique ways of saying that your project is running behind schedule but I hope to catch up this weekend and have a normal week next week....feast or famine my friends but someone has to pay for the embroidered gear bag....

have at it...

weekend

DD gets to visit a nice D2 school. .. Coach and DD have talked on the phone and he'd like to see her hitting. Last year she hit a Homerun and double off his starting pitcher. I'm thrilled with how she's been doing and her hitting instructor said he was so happy with how she did this week he wasn't going to charge us:)
Tuesday we go to another catching camp.

Eric F was going for some big hardware...

Unfortunately, our girls came up short in a middle-round game, and lost 1-0 (with some help from blue). This sent us to the losers' bracket and a long road to get the finals. We did make it to the championship round, but it was our 3rd game of the day, and the girls were empty against a team that they had beaten solidly early in the season. Granted, the other team improved a LOT since we played them before, but we weren't at our best, and they came into the finals fresh and motivated. A 9-5 loss sent us home with the smaller hardware.

This week, the girls are getting a break. We might do some hitting next week, but it will be pretty casual. The first week of December, we will ramp it back up in preparation for a Toys For Tots tournament at Big League Dreams in West Covina on Dec 5-6.

Weekend Tourney has been cancelled. Lessons cancelled tonight. Click on this link and Frankie from Nova Scotia will let you know what is going on down here in Houston. It gets even better at 1:30. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMDMOJAxwIg

Just got word that we might be playing a round robin on Sunday along with a rescheduled catching/hitting lesson that evening. I almost forget DD2 has her championship soccer game scheduled for Saturday morning. How is that possible after listening to Frankie from Nova Scotia???

Have a wonderful weekend folks.

Right Here For Now
I taught DD catching the NECC way. Since many of our TB teams at all age levels played the same tournaments over the last season, many catcher's parents, as well as team coaches, were rather impressed with DD. I have been asked since then to give private/team lessons. In order to mitigate the huge demand on time and time slots that would limit the team practices at our new indoor facility, I opted to go for a clinic setting instead. So tomorrow is the start of a series of 2 hour clinics and yes, DD will be taking part practicing as well as demonstrating techniques. Sunday, DD has a doubleheader in her indoor Winter league. Afterwards, my sister and her family will be coming in from out of town for Thanksgiving. We will all be having dinner Sunday night at my brother's house and we are looking forward to a nice visit with my family over the next several days.
