Daughter has been perfecting her drop curves and drop balls. I swear it seems anytime she changes something in her technique I get beat. Literally. My daughter two weeks ago got my right leg on a nasty but great drop ball. Today was a nasty and not a good drop curve. Hit me in the same leg same bruise. Now I can't feel my leg. It hurts. Bad!

Has anyone ever stopped catching for there daughter because of velocity or just becoming a wuss ? Lol.

I've wondered how in the world the ball always seeks out the same spot. I can't seem to get rid of my red badge of courage going on for a few months now.

Suck it up and put on the catching gear.

While my DD is getting "bigger, stronger, faster", I am getting "older, slower, and blinder"....so sooner or later I will have to break down and put on some gear.

Goodness. Spend $150.00 on some catching equipment. I have used shin guards and a mask for 15 years.

It is true, when you get one bruise, you will always get hit there the next day, too. I got hit in the ankle 2 weeks ago - batting.

Not wearing a mask makes as much sense as a man not wearing his cup. Your DD will quit throwing hard to you and that is not beneficial to them.

I typically sit sideways on the bucket to protect my shins among other things... its all good until you take a 55mph drop ball cutting down and out right on the left outside ankle bone. Its a month later and its still hurting... I think there's a fracture.
Buy the gear!

That WAS the last ball DW caught for DD. I was out-of-town when this happened...... I could have ringed her neck!
