Today my youngest DD got to pitch the first "real" game of her life. She just turned 7 and is playing in a small summer rec league with older girls (8-10 y/o). This was the first game of the season and she got to start in the circle. She pitched 2 innings and had 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Considering the other team had about 20 walks, I'd say she far exceeded my expectations. Best of all, it was evident that she worked on the 2 most important things we talked about before the game:

1. Give your best effort.
2. Control your attitude/emotions.

She's super competitive so I was a bit worried about #2. She can be a firecracker when things don't go her way. But even when she walked a girl, she still had a smile on her face and focused on the next batter like it was no big deal. She CAN'T WAIT for next Tuesday so she can do it again. :D
