FL Team Mizuno Davis 03 will be holding tryouts August 15th at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Florida from 9am-11:30am. Pre-registration is preferred so we can have all of player information ready to go and get started on time. You can email me your daughters information, dob, grad year, positions, previous experience/teams as well as parent information to mizunodavis@gmail.com or call me at the number below.
We are looking for athletes and families who are committed to playing this game at THE highest level. It involves traveling, long challenging practices, playing the BEST competition we can, being selfless and understanding what it means to be a great teammate (both athlete and family), striving for excellence, allowing your daughter to fail so she can continue to grow and gain confidence, being able to watch a game and cheer on THE TEAM....not just your daughter, and pushing to continue to grow and get better as we continue to develop this team so they can play as ONE and play for a national championship!! Please read and re-read this paragraph to make certain this is what you are about as I am fully committed to lead this team to become one of the best 2nd year 12u teams.
Our schedule....we will be practicing in Ocala, Florida primarily on Saturdays from 9:30-4. Some weekends this fall we will practice both Saturday and Sunday, playing 2 tournaments and leaving 1 weekend completely open. We will play in all ASA qualifiers and we will play as much as we can up in 14's. Our goal is to be qualified for ASA Nationals and as we look toward 2016, we will again play in the Elite Futures Showcase in either NJ or Atlanta....last month we attended this event and though our pool play was a little rough adjusting to the pitching as most of these teams were the best in the country, we went 3-0 on the 1st day of elimination beating some VERY strong 02 teams and surprising many there. We finished in the top 8 overall and were the highest placing FL team there. We look forward to attending this event again and going all the way.
Team Mizuno is the Gold Standard for national championship caliber girls' Fastpitch softball teams. Led by the organization's Director of Player Development and nationally acclaimed instructor Mike Stith, Team Mizuno produces the highest quality and most competitive softball players in the country. Under Mike's leadership, beginning in the Fall of 2012, Team Mizuno won BOTH the 2014 18U PREMIER and PLATINUM divisions at PGF nationals as well as runner up in the 16U Platinum and 3rd in the 14U Premier at PGF Nationals. In addition 10U teams were runner up in the ASA west Nationals and ASA Nationals.
The commitment list in the first 24 months is 2nd to none and by the end of 2015 it will be even more impressive. College coaches everywhere are following Mizuno players and with a few select teams now in Florida already proving themselves, the demand is growing, BUT roster spots are limited. Our players' success in obtaining college softball scholarships from major universities across the nation is a testament to their success as players. Our extensive and close relationships with college coaches all over the country provide a platform of access and trust that our players benefit from. Team Mizuno delivers proven-level talent to major colleges and universities and our players are known nationally as "players that can change a game".
Team Mizuno asks our players to measure their success by their effort, their attitude, their commitment and their teamwork. While our coaching is designed to maximize self confidence and self esteem, we also ask our players to embrace our philosophy of "humility in winning", "dignity in our actions" and "grace toward others". They must believe that the most important person on the field is "everyone else".
